WeWork, an American company that provides shared workspaces for technology startup subculture communities, has taken another step to offering vegan products to its members and employees by investing in Laird Superfood.
A variety of Laird Superfood vegan and gluten-free products, including powdered coconut water and "nutrient-dense" creamers for coffee, tea, and smoothies will soon be offered to members and employees in select New York City locations.
The co-working startup company "recently invested in a $32 million private funding round for Laird Superfood, a natural food company co-founded in 2015 by big-wave surfer and fitness entrepreneur Laird Hamilton", reported Inc.
"The Laird Superfood investment is not WeWork's first health-related move. Last July, the company committed to a global meat-free initiative, telling its 6,000 global employees it would no longer purchase red meat or poultry for company events or allow workers to expense meals including meat."
Laird Superfood was started by Laird John Hamilton, an American big-wave surfer.
