Protesters plan to picket the world’s largest livestock carrier after it docks in Timaru on Wednesday.

The 176.7-metre long Ocean Driver is set to arrive in port at 3am and the small group plans to set up at the intersection of The Bay Hill and Port Loop Rd above the port to protest the suffering that animals suffered on livestock carriers, protest organiser Felicity Penno said.

“Not only that, but those who survive are sold into countries with little or no animal rights legislation in place.
