A Hand-Painted Picture That Changes The Perception Of The World Environment

A brand new painting from Vietnamese artist Nguyen Thi Kim Duc was unveiled recently at the United Nation’s 2019 Vesak Festival in Vietnam.

The painting, entitled 'Cover of Future' uses watercolor on traditional Vietnamese silk and depicts a dying tree, shedding the last of its leaves. Mrs. Nguyen hopes the message will pass into the viewer’s soul and be acted upon before it is too late. The artist has a profound love of the environment and wishes to show us that planting trees by the million, to reduce carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere, may not be enough. Life might still be doomed unless we clean up our pollution and curb our wasteful habits.
